The Search for Answers After Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

After years of struggling to conceive and the heartbreak of multiple miscarriages, Mr. and Mrs. George felt emotionally and physically drained. They discovered their challenges were linked to a specific genetic condition, which increased the risk of passing chromosomal abnormalities to their child.

Step 1: The IVF Process – Creating Life in the Lab

The first step was a cycle of In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Using gentle, advanced protocols, our team retrieved Mrs. George’s eggs and fertilized them with sperm in our state-of-the-art embryology lab. Our embryologists closely monitored the development of the embryos, ensuring they grew under optimal conditions. Within days, several strong, viable embryos were ready for the next critical step.

Step 2: PGT Testing – The Key to a Healthy Embryo

For couples facing known genetic disorders, Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) is a transformative tool. A small number of cells were gently biopsied from each embryo and sent for genetic analysis. The test screened for both general chromosomal abnormalities (aneuploidy) and the specific hereditary condition the couple carried.

The results were a moment of immense relief and clarity: We identified several embryos as chromosomally normal and free of the genetic condition. This gave the couple the confidence to move forward, knowing they were transferring an embryo with the highest potential for a healthy pregnancy.

Step 3: The Gift of Gestational Surrogacy

Due to medical risks that made a pregnancy unsafe for Mrs. George, the couple made the loving decision to pursue gestational surrogacy.
